Nana Blazer
My project at Scandinavian Academy of Fashion (Margrethe-Skolen), Copenhagen, summer 2026.
A tailored blazer in black canvas with checked lining.
Inspired by the manga serie NANA (x Vivienne Westwood) and the fashion silhouettes of the 1960s.

Process
Vivienne Westwood Spring 1997 Womenswear
For this project, i took inspiration in Ai Yazawa's cult manga series NANA. They did a collaboration with Vivienne Westwood.
When looking for inspiration for my garment i also studied the fashion silhouettes of the 1960s
I am especially drawn to the experimental shapes and proportions of the jackets and blazers. I also love the colour combinations !
The technical drawings
The blazer ended up being super heavy and took up almost the entire sewing table, but I was really happy with the final result. I spent around five days making the garment and genuinely loved the process.
It was nice to challenge myself with a different kind of design project
Selected sketches
Finally, it was time to sew the garment — first in calico, and then in the final fabric. I found a really nice canvas for the blazer, and paired it with a checked fabric for the innerlining.
